Waste Types

Identification of your waste type is important and usually straight forward. It is very important to read & understand, as certain waste types are prohibited from being placed in skip bins.

Also in many cases the waste types will affect the price of the skip bin service.

Therefore it is important to correctly specify your intended waste type, as the price given for the skip bin, will depend on the type of waste going in the bin. Placement of any other waste type may result in additional charges after the skip bin is collected.

When selecting  a waste type (eg bricks and concrete) you must ensure that no other waste is placed in the skip bin. If this occurs , you will be liable to pay for the cost of disposal as (bricks and concrete).

Asbestos, hazardous waste, gas bottles, tree trunks, liquids, oil, wet paint, food waste, car tyres, mattress are never to be placed in the bin. Car tyres or mattress can be excepted with an additional cost of $40 per item.

Any bin going on public property, road or nature strip will incur a Council Permit depending which council it is, and how many days you keep the bin will determine the cost of the permit.

Below is a guidelines table. If you are unsure as to which waste type your waste belongs, please feel free to call Leo Skip Bins on 0411 561 163 and one of our experienced team will be happy to assist you.
